Job description

Our client is looking for a determined and hard-working individual to join their busy solicitor’s office in Kilmarnock. This is a fantastic opportunity to kickstart your administration career with scope to develop as well as to learn the legal system, gaining valuable experience which may enable further development within the team. You will work under the guidance of the Office Manager within the Legal Admin Team.

Duties will include:

  • Assisting with basic administration under the supervision of the Office Manager.
  • Answering/making telephone calls in a professional manner.
  • General reception duties.
  • Welcoming clients & visitors.
  • General upkeep of the offices, files and filing system.
  • Making tea/coffee for staff & visitors.
  • Photocopying, printing, typing and scanning documents.
  • Assisting the Senior Solicitor & Trainee Solicitors when required.
  • Running errands (e.g. taking documents to Kilmarnock Sheriff Court, Post Office, etc)
  • Dealing with incoming & outgoing mail.
  • Any other ad-hoc duties as required.

Requirements:

Your training will start with a 12-18 months Digital Application Support Modern Apprenticeship, which consists of learning on the job, as well as our custom-built E-Learning platform. You will develop all the skills you need to pass your work-based assessments. Our assessors are available to provide one-to-one support and will work with your line manager to ensure you settle into your new role.

You will gain a Diploma in Digital Application Support, which is a Nationally recognised qualification and may be used to gain employment and further your career in administration.

***Please note all candidates must be 16-24 due to government apprenticeship funding and must be able to easily commute to Kilmarnock every weekday. We welcome applicants from aged 16-29 if you are care experienced or a person with a physical disability, learning difficulty, mental health difficulty, social / communication impairment, or long-standing health issue***

Hours: Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm

Job Types: Full-time, Apprenticeship

Pay: £6.40-£11.44 per hour
